Urban - Taj Pacleb

These are some of the ancient ruins of Masada. Masada is an ancient fortification situated on top of an isolated rock plateau on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea. Herod the Great built it as a palace for himself between 37 and 31 BC. This is the place where Jewish rebels fled to after the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. It was the last Jewish stronghold against the Romans. It finally fell in AD 74. Spectacular views and solemn history. If rocks could speak, what an intriguing story they would share!
